The Startup Library is such a good time that we even have door prizes. What do people who work in libraries love? Books. Period.

Here are the first four books we gave away: The Adventures of Johnny Bunko, Flow, The Opposable Mind and Just Start. Why these books? Well, here’s the story…

Door Prizes Workshop 01

  • The Adventures of Johnny Bunko by Daniel Pink is a comic book career guide (yes you read that right) that I make my students read. If you’re going to spend your life working, then it might be a good idea to enjoy what you do.
  • Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi is a good primer on the psychology of engagement. Understanding the delicate balance between challenge and the skills.
  • The Opposable Mind by Roger Martin outlines the power of integrative thinking and abductive logic.
  • Just Start by Schlesinger, Kiefer & Brown discusses the Entrepreneurial Thought and Action model practiced by entrepreneurs. In a nutshell: less talk, more do.
